Jaded Issue #15
Nothing frustrates me more than the health industry — especially for women. And yes, I work in it, so I get it.
Even so, I still get overwhelmed. Every day there’s a new post, a new tip, a new “cure” aimed at women — all promising the secret to looking younger, healthier, or better. From anti-aging hacks to endless diet advice, it’s exhausting just trying to keep up. And honestly? Even with my background, I still feel lost in it all.
The point of this rant?
Even though the intention might be to help women, it’s all become… a lot. Overwhelming actually. And quite exhausting.
My goal with this page — if you’re still reading — is simple: to meet women where they’re at.
To help you find a way to appreciate yourself again.
Not to love yourself in the overly-perfect, toxic self-love way. Just… appreciate.
Because honestly? The noise is too much.
The anti-aging this, the Botox that, eat this not that, don’t do that, do this, take this for menopause so you don’t look “old.” You’re 23? Your collagen is shrinking! You’re 55 and “look 30”? Wow, goals!
We’ve all heard it. We’ve all internalized it.
And I’m not here to judge anyone.
You do you. Truly. Every woman deserves to make her own choices and do what makes her happy.
But I still hate that appearance remains the focus.
Think of all the women you love in your life. I can picture their faces, but I don’t judge them for how they look. What I notice — what I truly value — is their character and inner strength.
I look up to them as mothers, businesswomen (or both), wives, ambitious self-starters, incredible cooks, amazing grandmothers, active marathon runners… all of it. I don’t think about their bodies, faces, ages, shapes, sizes, weight, or wrinkles.
And I don’t want it to be any different for you.
So here’s my next challenge: 30 Things That Are More Interesting About You Than Your Appearance
(Yes, 30 — there are more questions I thought of, but this fits a month… and I think my OCD likes that.) If you’re feeling inspired, pick one a day and reflect on it. If nothing else, I just hope it gets you thinking about what really matters — who you are beneath the surface. Here it is…
