Jaded Issue #18
Sick season is here — and if you’ve already got that scratchy throat or the “is this a cold or allergies?” vibe, same.
This is your sign to not wait until you’re down bad to start taking care of yourself. One of my favorite remedies (that actually tastes good). A golden milk latte — warm, cozy, and packed with immune-boosting ingredients.

Why It Works
Turmeric
The real MVP. It’s anti-inflammatory, immune-supportive, and helps your body recover faster. Basically, it’s what keeps you from feeling like a zombie when you’re sick.
Black Pepper
Not just a sidekick — it activates turmeric, helping your body absorb all its good-for-you properties.
Honey
Nature’s NyQuil. Coats your throat, calms coughing, and adds natural sweetness.
Cinnamon
Warming, soothing, and loaded with antioxidants. It helps balance blood sugar and supports your immune system while making the whole thing taste like dessert.
Ginger
Clears congestion, fights nausea, and boosts circulation — basically, your immune system’s spicy best friend.
What You’ll Need
- 1–2 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ginger (fresh or ground both work)
- Pinch of black pepper
- 1 tbsp sweetener (honey or maple syrup)
- 2 cups milk (cow, almond, oat, coconut — whatever you like)
How to Make It
- Add everything to a saucepan with your milk.
- Whisk it together and bring it to a light boil.
- Lower the heat and let it simmer for a few minutes (this is where the flavor magic happens).
- Strain, pour into your favorite mug, and sip.
The Bottom Line
This isn’t some complicated wellness ritual. It’s a simple, comforting way to help your body fight back when you’re feeling run down.
So next time you feel a cold creeping in…. whip out your turmeric. Your body (and taste buds) will thank you.
Stay healthy, stay cozy,
xoxo Olivia Jade
