Defend Yourself, Naturally: Holistic Immunity Go-Tos

Happy September… aka happy fall… aka welcome to cold season.

In honor of the season (ugh), here’s my Defend Yourself, Naturally: Holistic Immunity Go-Tos — basically the things I reach for when my body starts waving the “something’s off” flag.

And just to keep it real: if you’re truly sick, go to the doctor. Get the antibiotics if you need them. Take the Advil if your head is pounding. That’s what modern medicine is for. Around here, it’s about balance: natural remedies first when I can, Western medicine when I need it, and quality of life above all.

So with that, let’s get into my fall immunity go-tos…

1. Oscillococcinum
A homeopathic remedy traditionally used for flu-like symptoms.. think body aches, chills, and fatigue. It’s one of those “catch it early” supports that many people swear by during cold + flu season.

2. Dorot Gardens Crushed Ginger
Frozen ginger cubes (aka a lifesaver). Ginger is warming, anti-inflammatory, and supports digestion + circulation. I love to toss it into warm lemon water, tea, or even soups.

3. Magnesium Glycinate
The usual start of the show nowadays is magnesium. A calming mineral that helps with stress, relaxation, and sleep…all of which are huge for immunity. Bonus: this form of magnesium is gentle on the stomach.

4. Elderberry & Echinacea Tea
A double herbal powerhouse. Elderberry is rich in antioxidants and studied for reducing the duration of colds, while echinacea helps support immune defense. Plus, sipping tea itself is calming.

5. Beekeeper’s Naturals Immune Support
A clean immune blend with propolis, vitamin C, and other adaptogens. Propolis has natural antibacterial and antiviral properties, making it a go-to when you need extra support. Bonus: I also bring this wherever I go when I travel. I use it every single morning because who wants to be sick on vacation….definitely not me.
